Introducing TA/UTAX Mobile Print
With the UTAX Mobile-Print app, you can print photos and documents from a mobile device, or from websites via a browser which is integrated into the app. Documents, which are scanned on a compatible Multifunctional Device, can be saved on the mobile device and then be sent per e-mail. Likewise, data can be scanned via the app by a mobile device and can be sent to an output system for printing.
“The working environment of our business customers is becoming increasingly mobile”, says Simone Brett-Murati, press officer of UTAX. “Smartphones and tablets have become one of the most important standard tools. With our app, it is really quick and easy to display and present documents and pictures saved on the mobile device in the printed form. This increases the usefulness and usage of mobile devices and makes working life more productive for UTAX users.”
TA/UTAX print supports the following devices:
Apple iPhone’s iOS version 4.2 or higher.
Apple iPad’s running iOS 4.2 or higher.
Android smartphones running version 2.2 and higher
Android tablets running 3.0 and higher.
Once you are working with a compatible device, the only prerequisite is that the mobile device is connected via WLAN to the local network of the target printing device. Here, the most frequently used output systems or multifunctional printers can be listed as favourites. This app supports printing protocols: Raw (port 9100), IPP (Port 631), and IPPS (SSL Port 443).
Compatible Print Formats
Once you have met the prerequisites, you will then be able to print in common file formats, such as jpg, png, pdf and xps from mobile devices. From Android devices, it is also possible to print .txt and .html files. iOS devices print .html and .rtf files, as well as all Microsoft Office documents (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) or iWork documents. The available paper formats are letter, legal, ledger, statement, A3, A4, A5, A6, folio, B4, B5, and B6. In addition, you can also select the number of copies to be printed, the number of pages per sheet and the page range. Further options are colour or black and white printing, duplex printing (2-page), stapling or punching.
